SPOTLIGHT

Kennedy Space Center

WCG provides air traffic control, airport/spaceport operations, aircraft services, and operations and maintenance for Space Florida at the Launch and Landing Facility located at Kennedy Space Center and its facilities and premises. These services include:

  • Maintaining a trained, certified, and competent workforce of air traffic controllers and airfield operations, aircraft servicer, and airfield maintenance personnel
  • Maintaining fuel and oxygen
  • Providing aviation ground support, including tugs and utility vehicles
  • Maintaining mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, wiring, lighting, and air traffic communications (radios, user positions, and voice switch) systems
  • Cleaning exterior walls, windows, and doors
  • Maintaining runways, airfield lighting, bird cannon system, and perimeter and runway security
  • Assuring needed supplies and equipment are available and ready to support airfield operations
